Dryer exhaust ducts: short, straight, few bends, uncapped end
The text in the pictures is in Thai, as originally posted.
Is your laundry's dryer exhaust duct installed correctly? 🌬️
The manual for IMAGE DE and DP dryers states that ducting of the wrong size or routing causes back pressure, slower drying and higher energy use, and may cause the burner to be shut down by a safety switch. The exhaust duct guidelines are as follows:
1. Vent to the outside of the building
2. Use a separate duct for each dryer; the manual states this is the preferred arrangement
3. Run the duct as straight as possible, avoiding 90-degree elbows
4. Where a bend is needed, use 30 or 45 degrees, and keep the inside of the duct smooth, with no screw tips that catch lint
5. Do not fit a screen or cap on the outside end of the duct
The figures and details above are taken from the manual for those models; if you use a different model, follow that machine's manual.
For questions about the ducting on your current dryers, the KHT team is happy to advise.
