Don't shake soiled linen: roll it inwards and bag it at once

The text in the pictures is in Thai, as originally posted.

🧺 Roll used hospital and hotel linen inwards and bag it where it was used, and the laundry can handle it more safely

According to US CDC guidance, soiled linen can carry large numbers of microorganisms, but when it is handled hygienically the risk is very low, and reported infections have been linked to improper handling, such as shaking linen. Laundries should therefore train their team to follow the same procedure.

1. Do not shake soiled linen, and handle it as little as possible.
2. Roll the linen with the most soiled side inwards.
3. Bag it where it was used; do not sort or rinse it there.
4. Do not hold linen bags against your body, as needles or sharp objects may be hidden inside.
5. Wear heavy-duty gloves and an apron every time you handle used linen.

US OSHA rules and the laundry manual of Oman's Ministry of Health set out the same principles, and the sources cite shaking linen as an example of improper handling behind reported infections.
