🌡️ 65 °C for 10 minutes counts from when the linen reaches that temperature, not from when you set the timer

Once a hot wash timer has run its course, has the linen been thermally disinfected?

You can't tell yet. Under the NHS England standard (HTM 01-04), the whole load must be held at 65 °C for at least 10 minutes, or 71 °C for at least 3 minutes, and that time counts from when the linen has reached the temperature, not from the time set on the dial. The standard allows roughly 4-8 extra minutes for heat to penetrate the linen, with heavily loaded linen taking longer. Follow the machine manual.
