🧺 These 5 points keep freshly washed linen from being damaged in storage

For laundry business owners, washed linen still needs care until it reaches the customer. Storing it in the wrong place can damage it and cost time to put right. The NHS England guidance HTM 01-04 and the TSA/UKHospitality hotel linen guide recommend the following:

1. Have a dedicated clean linen store that is not used for anything else.
2. Use shelving that is easy to clean, allows air to circulate, and sits above the floor.
3. Store linen somewhere dry and cool, away from direct sunlight and water.
4. Cover clean linen carts with a cover that can be washed or replaced, unless you use a fully enclosed lockable cabinet. If a cabinet or cart has carried used linen, clean and disinfect it daily and every time before using it for clean linen.
5. For hotel linen rooms, TSA/UKHospitality recommends keeping the room dry and avoiding concrete floors.

TSA/UKHospitality states that marks left on linen by concrete floors cannot be removed.
