Hosing down your washer is a quick way to clean it. True? 🧽
Should washers and ironers be cleaned by spraying them with water?
No, according to IMAGE Laundry Systems manuals. The washer manual says not to spray water on the machine, as this can cause an electrical short circuit, and not to clean it with solvents such as thinner, acetone, petrol or benzene. The ironer manual states that pressure washers and steam cleaners can damage the machine and void the warranty. For stainless steel parts, the washer manual recommends cleaning with detergent and water, rinsing with clean water, then wiping dry. Always follow the manual for the model you use.
